Shia LaBeouf’s ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ Project Apparently Closed for Good

Shia LaBeoufs He Will Not Divide Us Project Apparently Closed for Good

Well, that didn’t take long.

For the fourth time this year, actor and general nut job Shia LaBeouf has seen his anti-Donald Trump “art project” shut down, perhaps never to return.

Well, we can dream, anyway.

LaBeouf has had to move his set-up several times due to vandalism and violence. Now, after moving the anti-Trump piece — which consisted of a flag with the words “He Will Not Divide Us” printed on it — to Liverpool, England, LaBeouf and collaborators Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner may have little choice but to shut it down for good, according to Breitbart.

It seems as if this project, which was supposed to last the four years of President Trump’s first term, was doomed from the start.

The actor had to move the camera set-up — in which viewers could walk by and utter the words “He will not divide us” into the lens — first from New York to Albuquerque, then to an undisclosed location, and finally overseas to Liverpool, all within the span of a little over 60 days.

The initial campaign changed after the Albuquerque incident to simply flying a white flag with the “he will not divide us” words emblazoned on it, instead of letting people participate in the 24/7 feed.

Still, not disclosing the location didn’t stop a guerrilla military-style takedown of the camera when an unknown group used flight patterns and other clues to find the camera and not only take it out, but make it great again. The group found the flag and replaced it with a hat bearing President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” signature line.

That’s when the actor announced plans to move the installation to Liverpool … because Donald Trump is president there, right? Yeah, it just keeps getting sadder and sadder.

“Events have shown that America is simply not safe enough for this artwork to exist,” LaBeouf and his team wrote in a statement on the website for Liverpool’s Foundation for Art and Creative Technology. “We are proud to be continuing the project at FACT, an arts center at the heart of the community.”

One day later, Liverpool abandoned the project after three men were found scaling the building, trying to get onto the roof to tear the flag down.

Police advised the arts center to take down the installation because of this “dangerous, illegal trespassing.”

As of now, the project is dead, there has of yet been no comment on plans to resume to camera feed.

Maybe now Shia LaBeouf can get back to acting and stop trying to divide us by declaring that our president will not divide us.
