It would appear that some celebrities still fail to understand that the bulk of the American people really don’t care about their stance on political issues and simply want to see them act a role or sing a song for entertainment value, nothing more.
Following President Donald Trump’s latest executive order on immigration, specifically the temporary travel ban imposed on seven predominantly Muslim and terror-prone nations, as well as a temporary suspension of the Department of Homeland Security’s refugee program, many celebrities spoke out to express their anguish.
According to The Hill, R&B music star Rihanna took to Twitter to lament, “Disgusted! The news is devastating! America is being ruined right before our eyes! What an immoral pig you have to be to implement such BS!!”
But the pop star’s shot at Trump received return fire from a seemingly unlikely source, that being controversial female rapper Azealia Banks, who reminded Rihanna that nobody particularly cares what celebrities think outside of their music and movies.

According to People, Banks posted then deleted a message to Instagram that read: “As far as rihanna (who isn’t a citizen, and can’t vote) and all the rest of the celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down.”
“Stop chastising the president. It’s stupid and pathetic to watch,” she continued. “All of these confused people confuse other confused people. Hoping the president fails is like getting on an airplane and hoping the pilot crashes. What makes you think, the the USA is going to enter the Middle East destroy a bunch of sh** and pull out without any real repercussions ????”
Rihanna, who hails from the Caribbean island nation of Barbados, responded by posting a picture of herself denoting that she is an immigrant, and included a cryptic hashtag that read #stayawayfromthechickens, most likely a reference to Banks’ prior claim of conducting animal sacrifices when she was younger.
USA Today reported that the pair went back and forth on social media for a time, culminating in a discussion of chicken nuggets and the posting of what was purported to be Rihanna’s phone number. All of the posts were deleted after the fight. (The phone number was apparently no longer in service.)
While we aren’t exactly what you’d call fans of Banks, it is noteworthy that she has expressed support for Trump, even if her motives for doing so aren’t entirely clear, since she had previously criticized him extensively, as well as his supporter Sarah Palin, not to mention America as a whole.
That said, we find ourselves in agreement with her when it comes to her chastising fellow celebrities that they need to stop using their influence to stir up the public regarding things they simply don’t know about.
Indeed, there are far too many confused people that are further confusing an already confused public by perpetuating misinformation and outright lies, and this simply must stop, before one of those confused persons is influenced to do something that everyone will ultimately regret.
