On Monday, President-elect Donald Trump announced his choice to head up the Department of Housing and Urban Development — Dr. Ben Carson. The Rev. Franklin Graham quickly took to Facebook with his thoughts about Carson and the choice.
“I don’t think President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence could have made a better choice for their nominee for Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development,” Graham wrote.
Graham discussed why he believed Carson was a good choice: “Dr. Ben Carson is a brilliant man who loves his country and is willing to work hard to fix some of the things that are broken.”
“I have known him for more than 10 years. Dr. Carson is a man of faith — he’s right when he said, ‘If we acknowledge our need for God, He will help us,’” Graham added.
“We need more leadership in government like Dr. Ben Carson who will look to God for His wisdom and direction.”
Graham closed out his post with a request for people to join him in prayer: “Join me in praying for Dr. Carson as he takes on this new and important role. Let him know you’ll be praying in the comments below.”

Graham, as usual, made some excellent points. Many had hoped that Trump would find a role for Carson somewhere, and Carson has shown interest in the department and the problems it is mired in, Fox News reported.
Carson, an obviously brilliant man, will bring a unique perspective to HUD — a department that sorely needs fresh vision and common sense, two things Carson will surely have no problem supplying.
Moreover, Graham’s request for prayer for Carson is crucial. It’s always important to pray, but it is truly the most important thing we can do for our leaders. They all need our prayers to get this country back on track.
