With Inauguration Day just a few weeks away, the buzz over what will happen during the main event has reached fever pitch.
Trump was reportedly looking to draw upon speeches given by President Ronald Reagan and President John F. Kennedy in order to craft his speech — which has the potential to be one of the most important speeches of his lifetime.
Trump will be addressing an audience of tens of millions of people both in America and around the globe, making the speech a fantastic chance to present a solid message outlining what he plans to do over the next four years.
It would be difficult to overestimate the importance of this speech.
CNN noted that Trump was planning to keep the speech “short,” but it was unclear what that meant. While Trump will be drafting the speech himself, he will receive input from his team in order to have the best possibly final product he can.
“They will be talking about uniting America, bringing American together. We are now in the post-politics, post-campaign season and that’s the messaging around this inaugural,” explained a spokesman for the inauguration team, Boris Epshteyn.
Trump also met with presidential historian Douglas Brinkley to get some input on the history of the presidency. Brinkley stated that Trump was fascinated with Kennedy and Reagan and how they were able to connect with the nation, The Washington Post reported.
Trump has also managed to connect to Americans in his own unique way, but appears that Trump wanted to connect with those who still aren’t sold on his presidency.
This inauguration address will be a chance for Trump to bring in even more people and assure America, and her allies, that a Trump presidency will not repeat the mistakes of the past eight years and that it will work harder than ever to Make America Great Again.
