Libs Take Valentines to GOP Reps Office Moments Later 71-Year-Olds on Ground 2-Year-Old Smacked

One of the latest tactics adopted by the angry anti-Trump protesters is to show up in large groups at the townhall meetings and offices of Republican members of Congress to loudly express their opposition to President Donald Trump and those who support his agenda, a tactic other leftist groups have used to great effect.

The latest target of the left’s wrath was Republican California Rep. Dana Rohrbacher, whose Huntington Beach district office was mobbed on Tuesday as protesters delivered snarkily partisan “Valentine’s Day” cards to the congressman, according to CBS Los Angeles.

The large crowd swarmed the small lobby to take turns slipping their Valentine’s Day cards under the door of the interior office, but when a 71-year-old staffer for Rohrbacher attempted to open the door of the office to go to the restroom, she was knocked down and rendered momentarily unconscious by the mass of people crowding at the door.

A small, 2-year-old girl was also caught in the scrum and hit by the door, and though the child was not injured, she nevertheless burst into tears, no doubt adding to the chaos of the situation.

The staffer, identified as Kathleen Staunton, has managed Rohrbacher’s California office since he was elected to his first term in 1989. She received treatment for a bump on her head by paramedics and was ultimately transported to a hospital for observation.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the organization responsible for the protest called itself “Indivisible 48” (“Indivisible OC” for the local affiliate), a group that is attempting to model itself after the grassroots tea parties that grew up around the country in opposition to former President Barack Obama in 2009.

One of their members at the protest disputed the account that their mobbing the office door caused the staffer to be injured, stating instead that she had merely slipped on the cards and notes that had been slipped under the door.

Rep. Rohrbacher was not in his California office at the time, as he was in Washington attempting to do his job. His office quickly released a statement expressing the congressman’s anger at what had happened to his long-time senior staffer.

“I am outraged beyond words that protesters who mobbed my Huntington Beach office violently knocked down my faithful district director, Kathleen Staunton, causing her to be hospitalized,” the statement read. “And, yes, deliberate or not, the incident came as part of a mob action that not only intimidates but coerces. Though the protesters think of themselves as idealists, they engaged in political thuggery, pure and simple.

“These people do not want, as they’ve claimed, to hold a town hall meeting with me,” Rohrbacher continued. “These are unruly activists on whom the lessons of civility and democratic participation have been lost. They have repeatedly disrupted the normal operations of my district office, preventing my staff from serving constituents with real needs, such as veterans’ and Social Security issues.”

“They are part of a nationwide, anti-Trump mobilization, whose organizers call themselves, with supreme hypocrisy, by the name ‘Indivisible.’ In fact, they are bent on dividing the nation, defying the will of voters and undermining the legitimacy of the election,” the statement added. “These holier-than-thou obstructionists will be held responsible for this outrageous assault. They are exposing themselves for what they are — enemies of American self-government and democracy.”

We couldn’t agree more with Rohrbacher’s summation of the anti-Trump groups causing so much disruption, and at times, violence, and share his outrage at the injury suffered by his staffer thanks to the mob.
