In case you hadn’t guessed, farmers are not the type of people that you should probably mess with.
After all, by the time you stumble out of bed, get ready for work and go to Starbucks to get a pumpkin spice mochafrappe chocochino (I’m not certain that’s even a menu option, but it sounds like something a bearded millennial who listens to Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti would order), farmers have been up and tilling the land for at least five hours.
Oh, and definitely don’t mess with Croatian farmers. They’ve survived war, years of depredation in the Soviet bloc, and horrible Eastern European techno. Messing with Croatian farmers is a doubly bad idea.
Sadly, these Croatians didn’t learn their lesson. They kept on parking on farmer Pavao Bedekovic’s land to visit a flea market across the way. According to Croatian news site 24 SATA (via The Blaze), Bedekovic constantly warned the people parking there, but to no avail.
So, he decided to go about his work on his tractor, in a rather purposeful manner.
Needless to say, thanks to the ditches, none of the illegal parkers could leave:
You may not think this could get any better, but it does. When a number of the motorists called police to complain about the fact that they were trapped in by a series of tractor-dug ditches, the police responded that they couldn’t do anything — since, you know, they had parked illegally on private property.
Even in the European Union, that’s still known as “trespassing,” apparently.

Thankfully, it looks like a lot of those cars were probably Renaults and Russian-made Ladas, so it’s not like the market-goers would have lost anything of value.
Bedekovic doesn’t have a heart of stone, though; he eventually decided to flatten the trenches to allow the drivers to escape, as you can see below.
You can bet, however, that he’s not going to have this problem next week.
