In 2016, with all of our technology and all of our knowledge, we often think that we know everything about out planet that there is to know. In fact, quite the opposite is true.
There are still vast parts of the planet that have yet to be explored, and which hold countless mysteries. One of these places is the Amazon rainforest, which is host to a number of strange sights, including tribes that have never had contact with the outside world, National Geographic reported.
Brazilian photographer Ricardo Stuckert was flying over the rainforest on his way to visit one tribe when a thunderstorm forced his helicopter to take an alternate route, and he ended up flying over a tribe that has never had contact with the outside world.
Can you image that? After all these years, there are still tribes out there that have never had contact which other humans. That’s just fascinating to think about.
This particular tribe has been photographed before, however they have moved around several times. These new photographs provided even more detail into the lives of these people.
Despite being scared by the helicopter, these tribal folk actually had the courage to shoot some arrows at the aircraft.
“I felt like I was a painter in the last century,” Stuckert told National Geographic. “To think that in the 21st century, there are still people who have no contact with civilization, living like their ancestors did 20,000 years ago — it’s a powerful emotion.”
One almost has to wonder if these people lead better lives than most of us. They certainly have fewer distractions and fewer worries than the rest of us do.
You can see photos of the tribe here.
Seeing this tribe makes you wonder if there are other places on Earth where people have lived for thousands of years without managing to come into contact with other humans.
It also makes you wonder if there are aliens out there in the galaxy that are thinking the same thing about us as a species — how have we been around for all these years and not had contact with them?
