It seems that nowadays no one has time to help those in need. We are all so busy running around that we often forget to take a minute and help those who can’t help themselves.
Luckily there are still some people in this world who take the time to help others.
One cashier at a Chicago McDonald’s is one of those people. A customer at a restaurant in downtown Chicago snapped a photo of the cashier, identified only as Kenny, helping a customer with his food, and it is going viral — for good reason.
On Sept. 16, the customer, Destiny Carreno, wrote on Facebook about what she saw. In eight days, her photo an comments had been shared over 300,000 times.
“It took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying, ‘Help me please.’ Neither of us knew what help he needed, and the cashier suggested a few things before he figured out the gentleman needed help cutting and eating his meal,” she wrote.
Carrno did not expect the cashier to actually help the elderly gentleman, as the restaurant was very crowded.
“The cashier came out from the kitchen, sat down, and began cutting the man’s meal and helped him eat,” Carreno explained. “This employee, who put everything on hold for this man, went above and beyond his responsibilities to help this handicapped customer out. That was the kindest and most humble thing I had ever seen.”
We should all strive to be like this cashier, and together we can make the world a better place.
