Pence Demands Apology After AP Publishes Wifes Private Email Address

While President Donald Trump has gained fame for his willingness to go head-to-head with the liberal media, Vice President Mike Pence has preferred to remain in the background — until now.

After a story broke last week about how Pence used a private email while he was governor of Indiana (which wasn’t against the law), The Associated Press published several of the emails and conveniently forgot to redact the email address of Pence’s wife, Independent Journal Review reported.

Pence was quick to pounce on the AP for this disgusting action, sending them a letter and posting it on Twitter, demanding that they take down his wife’s email address and issue a formal apology.

“The publication of Mrs. Pence’s active private email address to millions of your readers has subjected her to vitriolic and malicious emails and raised serious security concerns. There was absolutely no reason to publish this private email address, and you should be ashamed of your reprehensible conduct,” the letter read.

Fox News reported that AP did take down Mrs. Pence’s email address, though as of Monday morning AP had not issued a formal apology to Pence — at least not one that had been made public.

“AP removed the email address from subsequent stories after learning Mrs. Pence still used the account. The AP stands by its story, which addresses important transparency issues,” Lauren Easton, the AP’s director of media relations, stated.

Pence also brought up the incident at the Gridiron Club dinner on Saturday evening. Pence used it as an opportunity to remind the journalists in the room that while they are free to publish stories, they should be responsible as well, the New York Post reported.

“But let me say, respectfully, with freedom comes responsibility. In this day and age of a breathless news cycle, we sure could use more responsible, considered journalism in America,” Pence stated.

What the AP did is utterly despicable. Do you think they would have “accidentally” published the email address of a prominent liberal if they had gotten their private emails? I don’t think so.
