Obama Sends Out Fundraising Email to “Fight Back” During Trump Presidency

If you thought that Barack Obama would fade into the background after his presidency was over and stop fighting against his successor, Donald Trump, you’ve got another think coming.

According to the Washington Examiner, President Obama has sent out an email to supporters in an effort to get a head start on fundraising before his successor is even inaugurated.

According to Supreme Patriot, the president tells those who received the fundraising email that they should be “proud” of the 2016 election, even though they lost the presidency and couldn’t regain the Senate despite a highly favorable map.

“I know how much I’ve asked of you this year. I really do,” the fundraising email began.

“But let me tell you: every dollar you chipped in, every phone call you made, and every neighbor you helped register made a difference. No matter the outcome, I hope you’re as proud as I am of how you made an impact in this election.”

Oh, yeah, I’m sure there are a lot of Democrats who are going to be ultra-psyched to give money once they remember just how well their money was used this cycle. But, as Obama points out, the struggle continues, and they need your cold, hard cash.

“Now, across the country, there are Democrats gearing up for the fights ahead — and some for their next race. And they need your help, too,” the letter continues.

“So I’m asking you to chip in $3 or more and help out Democrats who are out there fighting for you and me.” But mostly him.

He then makes a pitch for the future: “Most people only tune in to politics in the weeks before a big election. But often, the most important work we do happens at times like these, when we build our organization and chart a course for the coming months and years.

“This is a big deal for our party and the movement we built together. If you’re able, please donate $3 or more today.”

Yes, even though President Obama might be playing nice with Donald Trump at the White House, what he’s planning on doing with the Democratic Party is a different matter.

Of course, President Bush mostly stayed out of the way after his presidency was over, but Obama seems to be following a different mold. Unfortunately, it seems that he’s going to stick around for a lot longer.
