Quick, name three actors who could play president Ronald Reagan on film.

Was Nicolas Cage on your list? Not on mine either. But the big news in Hollywood, according to Breitbart, is that Cage has been offered the title role in the upcoming film “Reagan,” a reverent biopic of one of America’s greatest presidents.

Liberals are not going to like this — or maybe they’ll actually learn something.

Promising to paint the beloved Gipper in a flattering light, the filmmakers could certainly do worse than Cage. A versatile actor capable of any characterization (contrast “Moonstruck” with “National Treasure” with “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” with “Matchstick Men”) he certainly has the acting chops to pull it off.

And Cage is also no stranger to conservative films, having starred in “Left Behind.”

And after the horrible Will Ferrell debacle, when the comedian intended to mock Reagan’s Alzheimer’s disease but pulled the plug on the film when the public made it clear that some things just aren’t funny (or even acceptable), we can look forward to a loving look at the Gipper.

“Reagan” will tell of the 40th president’s life as chronicled by a KGB agent who was assigned to follow him during the early days of the Cold War, when the future president was vehemently anti-communist while heading the Screen Actors Guild, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is rumored to be based on two best-selling biographies of Reagan by Paul Kengor, titled “The Crusader” and “God and Ronald Reagan,” Movieweb reported.

Ronald Reagan was the absolute embodiment of conservative values — decency, self-reliance and fortitude — and he brought America back to greatness after the horrible Carter years.

He made it his mission to topple the USSR and to end communism’s choke-hold on East Germany, squaring his shoulders against an enemy of freedom and persevering when everyone said it couldn’t be done.

Reagan inspired us all to be the very best versions of ourselves, and the time is right for a reminder of just how great he was.

We believe that president-elect Donald Trump will bring us back to greatness and will honor Ronald Reagan’s vision for America as a “shining city on a hill” … and it will be interesting to see who winds up playing him in his movie.
