The American Thanksgiving tradition of football, food and family just got even a little warmer.
As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepared to play against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, there was a special guest on the field. Beau Vinatieri, who serves in the U.S. Army National Guard and recently returned from deployment in Kuwait, joined brother Adam, the Colts’ kicker.
We’ve seen too much disrespect for our flag, but not from these two. Here’s a heartwarming photo.
Along with Kuwait, Beau served in eight other countries during his deployment with the Nevada Army National Guard’s 17th Sustainment Brigade. He returned home Nov. 9, just in time to surprise his family for Thanksgiving, according to The Score.
The brothers, both in their respective uniforms, stood proudly together during the national anthem.
Speaking of the national anthem, the hosting Colts upped their game in that department as well. “The Star-Spangled Banner” was sung not by some superstar practicing her vocal gymnastics, but purely, elegantly and with stunning emotion by members of the Indianapolis Fire Department, who wowed the sold-out crowd of 66,500. The images are just too heartwarming to not share.
The 16-member Vinatieri family all posed before the game wearing jerseys with #4, Adam’s number, except for Beau, who remained in his military uniform, WHTR News in Indianapolis reported.
What a family for America to admire:

Now isn’t that better than another story about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick?
