Some newspapers are seeing a rapid decline in sales after months of printing lies and despicable covers featuring President-elect Donald Trump.
According to the New York Post, the New York Daily News leads the pack when it comes to dying newspapers.
The Alliance for Audited Media studied the business trends, and concluded that sales began to drop off in September, less than two months before the 2016 presidential election.
Also on the list of dying newspapers: the New York Post and The New York Times.
The Daily News lost 11.2 percent of its print circulation on weekdays during the month of September.
Likewise, the Post took a 6.8 percent tumble, while the Times lost 5.5 percent.
The Post was the number one seller in September, but still sold under 170,000 copies at newsstands or delivered to subscribers.
The drop can’t be blamed on a dying paper business, either. Even the papers’ mobile sites took a plunge as well. The News took a 29.5 viewership dip on its mobile app circulation.
There might be a reason to explain the drop in sales and business. The papers were met with criticism after they unleashed a slew of controversial articles and disgusting covers about the now- President-elect Trump.
Many Americans, especially those who work in the media, did not believe that Trump would actually be elected the 45th president of the United States. However, now that the impossible is a reality, the future of those papers could very well be in jeopardy.
