If Hollywood was expecting Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman to go absolutely insane over President Donald Trump the way that some stars have done, it must be very disappointed again.
In an interview with AARP Magazine, Freeman said that he had supported Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton but that he was hopeful that President Trump would do a good job.
“As for politics today, I supported Hillary in the election, and now it feels like we are jumping off a cliff,” Freeman said. “We just have to find out how we land. I’m not scared, though.
‘”I’m holding out hope that Donald Trump has to be a good president. He can’t not be. What I see is a guy who will not lose,” Freeman added.
Freeman, who won an Oscar for his work in the Clint Eastwood-directed “Million Dollar Baby,” also talked about being pigeonholed in Hollywood because of his race. “‘I’m not a professional black actor; I’m a professional actor,” Freeman said. “I can remember only once in the movies playing black, and that was Driving Miss Daisy.”
Freeman’s take on Trump was very different — and a lot more adult — than we’re used to from most of liberal Hollywood.
Anyone who saw the Screen Actors Guild Awards last weekend — which mostly seemed like a paid political advertisement for foes of Donald Trump — knows that the left coast’s entertainment industry has not exactly been tolerant or patient with the new president (or anyone who voted for him).
Take Cher for instance. Please, take her. As far away as possible. Here was her thoughtful analysis on the day after Donald Trump won:
world will never be the same. I feel Sad for the young.🚽will never be more than the toilet, I’ve used as a symbol 4 Him.

There has to be some sort of law that states that whenever you compare your opponent to literal excrement, you’ve lost the argument.
Freeman, unlike his Hollywood cohort, is taking the loss of his preferred candidate with — gasp! — maturity and decency.
If only we could see more of this.
