Man Kills UPS Driver in Walmart Parking Lot, Thought He Was Killing Trump

A homicide suspect stood in front of a court of law to proudly announce that he had shot and killed President-elect Donald Trump when in fact he had killed an innocent UPS driver.

According to The Ithaca Voice, 38-year-old Justin R. Barkley shot and killed a UPS driver in an Ithaca, New York, Walmart parking lot on Dec. 8.

Even more troubling? Barkley insisted he had shot and killed President-elect Trump.

During his arraignment, Barkley told a court, “I shot and killed Donald Trump purposely, intentionally and very proudly.”

“I went there to purposely shoot and kill him and put him down,” the murderer continued.

When members of the court asked Barkley if he could tell the difference between mistaking a person for Trump and Trump himself, Barkley said he could. He then stated that he did not kill the wrong person.

Barkley decided to plead guilty, but after deliberating with his attorneys, he considered a not-guilty plea by reason of mental illness.

Raw Story later reported that Barkley will undergo a mental evaluation before any further decision is made. Hopefully this man gets the help he so obviously needs.

Barkley will appear in court again on Jan. 6.

Death threats against the president-elect are so common that even national media have picked up on them.

In November, TMZ reported that law enforcement investigated an Ohio man who posted a picture on social media that said “Kill Trump.” When asked about the incident, the man claimed it was “just a joke.”

And who could forget the tech CEO who was fired for his threatening comments made toward Mr. Trump? According to Fortune, Matt Harrigan, CEO and President of PacketSled, took to Facebook to threaten the life of the president-elect.

“Bring it Secret Service,” Harrigan said. “Getting a sniper rifle and perching myself where it counts.”

Threats such as these must be taken more seriously to spare other innocent lives.
