Look How Obama Responded to SEAL Death vs How Trump Responded Says It All

When a member of the United States military dies while fighting on behalf of our president and our country, it should be the natural response from the commander in chief to pay his respects to the fallen hero.

However, in 2011, we saw how little President Barack Obama cared about the deaths of two former Navy SEALs who were killed while trying to defend the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, from a terrorist attack.

The day after the deaths of Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods — along with Ambassador Chris Stevens and Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith — Obama jetted off to a campaign fundraiser in Las Vegas, according to Independent Journal Review.

Six years later, the response from President Donald Trump after a Navy SEAL died in the line of duty couldn’t be more different.

A Navy SEAL Team Six attack on Al Qaeda headquarters in Yemen just days after Trump took office resulted in the death of 14 terrorist operatives but unfortunately saw the loss of an American hero as well.

Chief Special Warfare Operator William “Ryan” Owens, a 36-year-old Navy SEAL from Illinois, was killed during the Jan. 29 raid, according to CBS News.

Instead of jetting off to attend a fundraiser or celebrity-hosted party like his predecessor, President Trump showed his true character and his respect for our military. The president, along with his daughter, Ivanka, quietly left the White House on Feb. 1, boarding Marine One for what was at the time an undisclosed destination.

Moments later, however, we learned that the Trumps had gone to Dover Air Force Base to pay their respects during the arrival of Owens’ remains and to personally thank the hero’s family for their sacrifice, according to CNN.

That, my friends, is a true leader — and a president the nation can be proud of.
