During President Donald Trump’s speech Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, some in the audience were reportedly seen waving Russian flags with his last name emblazoned on them.
When this news initially broke, liberals freaked out, claiming that this was indisputable proof of the alleged ties between President Trump’s administration and that of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Once the real story was unearthed, however, their narrative quickly changed.
First, take a look at one of the initial reports below:

Their stated goal had been to highlight “the drip of revelations of backchannel communications between the Russian government and the Trump campaign — and allow people to ‘get a laugh out of their day.’”

Funny guys, huh? Not shockingly, liberals did exactly as the two progressive activists had anticipated and subsequently took to the comment boards of various news outlets to laugh their condescending hearts out.
“The pictures of those people happily waving their flags, simply because they are emblazoned with TRUMP … priceless,” wrote a reader at The Hill.
Yeah, and the pictures of liberals crying their eyes out after Republicans took the White House, the Senate, the House and the majority of state and local legislatures in November were also priceless.
The only difference was that, whereas the GOP’s monumental election victory had been 100 percent organic, the activists’ stunt at CPAC was completely contrived.
Regardless, one of the two activists, Jason Charter, had something else to say about his prank.
“I think it says a lot about Donald Trump’s base and their education level,” he argued. “I don’t want to insult anyone, but I think you should know what the Russian flag is. They are one of the world’s major powers, and it’s a pretty easily recognized flag.”
That is complete baloney.
Here are the facts: The Russian flag features three horizontal strips colored white, blue and red, i.e., the exact same colors of the United States’ own flag.
Given the joyful nature of the event Friday, and given also that most people are not experts on other countries’ flags, this sanctimonious assertion by Charter that the attendees’ failure to recognize the flags speaks ill of their intelligence is not simply insulting — it’s just typical liberal elitist condescension.
What a bozo. Look, liberals may laugh all they want at themselves successfully pulling off a silly, little meaningless prank, but at the end of the day, the Republicans whom they clearly despise still run this country from top to bottom.
So go ahead and laugh, and go ahead and make false observations about people’s intelligence, but those people are still winning — and you’re not. He who laughs last, laughs best.
