In lieu of pursuing a position in the incoming administration, President-elect Donald Trump’s first campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, has instead reportedly launched a political consulting firm along with former campaign adviser Barry Bennett.
“I will always be President-elect Trump’s biggest supporter,” he said in a statement published to Twitter Wednesday. “After considering multiple opportunities within the administration, I informed him and his team I think I can best help him outside the formal structure of government.”
“My goal is to make sure the priorities of the Trump administration become a reality,” he added.

Some commentators have since expressed concern that Lewandowski’s new endeavor — which they have labelled a lobbying firm — would conflict with Trump’s “drain the swamp” message, but he has claimed otherwise.
“I’ve never said I’m going to be a registered lobbyist,” he told Politico. “What we’re going to do is make sure individuals who want to support Trump’s agenda will have the opportunity to do that.”
Bennett, agreed, stating, “We are going to help Trump advance his issues — if you’re adamantly opposed to his policies, you shouldn’t hire us.”
It sounded as if the underlying motivation behind the firm’s launch was to provide quick and easy access to the president-elect for those organizations interested in helping him “Make America Great Again.”
The former campaign manager’s commitment to the president-elect was in many regards impressive, given that he had been abruptly terminated from his role right dab in the middle of the presidential campaign last June, as noted at the time by CNN.
But even after that shocking termination, he had still remained humble.
“I had a nice conversation with Mr. Trump and I said to him, ‘It’s been an honor and a privilege to be a part of this,’ and I mean that from the bottom of my heart,’” he had said.
As for his future one block away from Trump, Lewandowski has only one personal goal in mind, according to Yahoo News: “I will not be a swamp creature.”
