Lewandowski Assures Americans That Under Trump Presidency, Saying “Merry Christmas” Is OK

I’m dreaming of a White House Christmas …

The recent election had some pressing issues — the economy, jobs, immigration — but Americans didn’t hold back when it came to the assault on Christmas.

Now a former aide to President-elect Donald Trump has made it official: When Trump takes office, he’s bringing Christmas with him. Corey Lewandowski says the words “Merry Christmas” will no longer be a forbidden expression.

“You can say ‘Merry Christmas’ again because Donald Trump is now the president. You can say it again. It’s OK to say,” Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, said on Fox News’ “Hannity,” The Hill reported.

The Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on our country didn’t break us, so the secular left found another way: They stole Christmas. The birth of Jesus is agreed to have taken place some 2,000 years ago. The death of Christmas began in December 2004.

It was then that Macy’s ordered their employees to say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” In Denver, no religious floats were permitted in the holiday parade. In New York City, the “holiday tree” was unveiled and Christian Christmas symbols were banned from the public schools, according to Politico.

For 12 years, the liberal left has systematically removed “the reason for the season” from schools, businesses and public displays, even helping to ban the simple greeting, “Merry Christmas.”

Speaking in Burlington, Iowa, on Oct. 19, then-Republican presidential nominee Trump said, “I’m a good Christian. If I become president, we’re gonna be saying “Merry Christmas” at every store … You can leave ‘Happy holidays’ at the corner,” CNN reported.

In true Trump style, he has vowed to set the presidential, non-politically-correct example.

One of the cornerstones of Trump’s campaign was the religious right, a huge bloc of voters who came out in overwhelming support of Trump. The Washington Post reported that Trump spoke routinely during the campaign about religious liberty and freedom of religious expression for all faiths.

We’re tired of walking on eggshells and tiptoeing around other people’s feelings. We need to teach our children (and perhaps ourselves), that the way to harmony isn’t by banning religious expression but by embracing it.

We are, largely and enduringly, a Christian country. President-elect Donald Trump wisely knows that we should embrace that.

Although it’s been said many times, many ways … Merry Christmas to you.
