A white Florida teacher lacking in critical brain cells reportedly used President-elect Donald Trump’s name last week to issue a racist and unacceptable threat against several black students who were simply hanging out in the school hallway during a period break.

“Don’t make me call Donald Trump to get you sent back to Africa,” teacher John Sousa of Wesley Chapel High School said, according to Donnie Jones Jr., a father of one of the victims.

“When my child told me that, I didn’t know what to say,” Jones Jr. wrote in Facebook posts made Wednesday and Thursday. “I was blown away.”

He added that when he called Sousa to talk about what had happened, the teacher fessed up to having said it and claimed “it was just an off-the-wall comment and wasn’t meant to be racist.”

The teacher also claimed that the threat had been made against everyone who was in the hallway at the time, though according to Jones Jr.’s, that was a lie.

“(My) daughter said he pointed at the 3 black students” before making the remark Jones Jr. wrote.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Sousa has since been placed on administrative leave as the school investigates the claims.

“We take this type of alleged behavior very seriously and we will not tolerate it,” district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe reportedly said. “We are following our investigative procedures and will take appropriate action.”

What was not clear was whether Sousa was necessarily even a supporter of Trump. Given the idiotic way in which he misused the president-elect’s name, he could very well be a flaming liberal. Either way, his remark was reprehensible.

But before liberals try to use this isolated incident of stupidity to blame Donald Trump for allegedly inciting acts of racism across the nation, they might want to take a look at their brethren in Portland and remember the phrase, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
