Brandon Dixon is that same Hamilton actor who delivered his activist message written by show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to Vice President-elect Mike Pence…he’s also the same guy that has a few racially charged Tweets floating around. It’s really hard to take someone’s plea for equality seriously when they have some of the most hateful and harmful views out there. Let’s look at a few of those Tweets after we take a little walk down memory lane.
Remember, Dixon over the weekend had just harpooned Pence and his family while they were trying to watch HIS show. Did they pay money? Were they respectful audience members? All indications point to a resounding yes…yet Dixon, Miranda and the producers thought they were doing the work of God or something…
After curtain call, the cast and Dixon stood on stage as he read the message, saying: ‘We, sir — we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us.’
To Pence’s credit, he said he wasn’t offended and even said the booing that came from the audience was ‘what freedom sounded like’ and he’s right. Nice guy. But scumbaggery needs to be pointed out and ridiculed…that’s just what I do.
President-elect Donald Trump was angered (at least on Twitter) and launched his counter punch in Tweet form.
‘Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen! The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!’
On Tuesday, Heat Street sifted through Dixon’s Twitter account to uncover that he was strongly against police and had written disgusting posts about ‘white women’ and St. Patrick’s Day.
In one of his scumbag Tweets, Dixon wrote this about police officers:
Another tweet by Dixon was a poorly thought out response to someone else’s tweet about Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17 year-old Florida boy who was shot dead by George Zimmerman.
‘Jump off’ is a term that means to have sex with them…If the wording wasn’t obvious.
