Gowdy Wasnt 1st to Respond to 9th Circuits Trump Ruling But He Got EPIC Last Word

Amid the noise and clatter of opinion regarding the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling to suspend President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration, one clear and eloquent voice arose last week to shed light on the issue.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., as usual, did not disappoint.

Making it clear that President Donald Trump, not the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, is in charge of immigration policy, Gowdy let fly a scathing indictment of the court and its dereliction of duty, according to TheBlaze.

Gowdy echoed the widespread opinion of Americans that those who are not legally here, and those who are not yet here at all, do not share the same rights the Constitution guarantees to citizens and legal residents.

“Judges are neither in a position, practically or jurisprudentially, to second guess national security determinations made by the commander in chief. There is a reason we elect the commander in chief and do not elect federal judges,” he said in a statement Thursday.

Calling the court’s rulings and opinions “presumptively reversible,” Gowdy predicted that the ruling will be overturned, according to Conservative101.

Gowdy condemned the court’s  recognition of due process for illegal immigrants, according to the Greenville (S.C.) Journal.

As a former prosecutor, Gowdy was well within his area of expertise when he stated, “Of particular interest is the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals’ suggestion that even those unlawfully present in the country have certain due process rights with respect to immigration.”

An ardent social conservative, Gowdy was a rising Republican star during the Barack Obama administration, hammering former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton again and again for her use of a private email server and for “bleaching” tens of thousands of emails.

Known for his sharp wit and never at a loss for words, Gowdy polished off the statement with a scathing rebuke for the court: “For those, like Alexander Hamilton, who once or now wondered if the Judicial Branch would be too weak. Wonder no more.”

That’s why they call him “The Bulldog!”
