Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks displayed an immense amount of bravery Tuesday by boldly stating that the Democrats’ incessant criticism of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination for attorney general was rooted in their real agenda, what he dubbed the party’s longtime “war on whites.”
“It’s really about political power and racial division and what I’ve referred to on occasion as the ‘war on whites,’” he told radio station WBHP. “They are trying to motivate the African-American vote to vote-bloc for Democrats by using every ‘Republican is a racist’ tool that they can envision.”
“It’s all about political power, and the Democrats are not shy about lying in order to achieve their political goals,” he added. “And if they have to besmirch the reputation of a good man, Jeff Sessions, in order to achieve their political goals, they as a group are not hesitant to do so.”

Brooks was spot-on on his assessment. Democrats have brainwashed far too many Americans into believing that everything the GOP seeks to do — add accountability to the welfare system, secure the borders, protect Americans from terrorism — stems from some inexplicable hatred of minorities.
And believe me when I say the brainwashing runs deep. As a minority, I am often asked, “How can you support such a racist party?” Yet when I ask my critics to highlight a single example of genuine racism — versus trumped-up fake racism — they become mute as a mime.
Speaking Wednesday with AL.com, Brooks reiterated his original statement, noting that there were no laws on either the state or federal federal level that permit discrimination against minorities “except for Caucasian-Americans.”
“There are federal statues in particular and any number of state statues around the county that permit discrimination against Caucasians for no other reason except their skin color,” he said, pointing to the Diversity Immigrant Visa program, which “approximately 50,000 foreigners a year can compete for in order to come into the U.S. — except for Caucasians.”
“That is racism, pure and simple,” he noted. “And that is a racist program promoted and defended by Democrats. We have voted to make that program open to Caucasians, and the Democrats have defeated our efforts in the U.S. Congress.”
To the sane, yes, this was racism. But to liberals, for whom the world looked upside down, Sessions’ fervent willingness to prosecute desegregation cases, as an example, was apparently what real racism looked like.
