Many leftist groups have been protesting President Donald Trump, insisting that he will somehow oppress them all and turn America into a police state — without any evidence to support their claims.

On Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Tucker Carlson confronted a gay man, Shane Saunders, who has been leading some anti-Trump protests. All Carlson had to do was ask the man one easy question to show just how weak his arguments were, The Daily Caller reported.

Carlson asked Saunders why, as a gay man, he was afraid of Trump. It was a simple question, yet Saunders couldn’t actually answer it.

“My being gay is not the point of this,” Saunders stated. “It’s well known that there’s potential legislation out there. There was a leaked report … I made an off-the-cuff remark about being a gay man, and I feel like I’ve been talking about that more than the actual protest itself. If you’d like to get back to talking about the protest, I’d be more than happy to.”

There’s lots of “potential” legislation out there (most of it phantom) — except Trump has very little to do with any of it. Legislation is Congress’ job. There was a potential executive order about religious liberty that was floating around a few weeks ago, but it is unlikely that it will ever get signed.

“I asked you why you were protesting,” Carlson said, not letting Saunders off the hook. “You said there’s a bunch of reasons; here’s one of them. ‘I said I heard friends saying I’m gay and I’m scared of President Trump.’ You brought it up.”

Saunders then attempted to pivot to a discussion about Trump’s taxes rather than answer the question.

Ironically, Trump is arguably the most pro-gay Republican president ever elected. Of course liberals would never dare admit that because then they would lose one of their key talking points against Trump.

The reality of the situation is that Trump has done nothing to make gay people fearful of him. If they are fearful, they really need to turn off MSNBC and start actually learning the facts of the situation.
