Fox Host Disappears for Days, Returns From Heartbreaking Burial of Her Mom

A Fox News anchor and co-host has learned what we all wish the media knew: Some news is too personal, too private and too painful to share until the right moment.

Harris Faulkner, anchor of “Fox Report” and co-host of daytime talk show “Outnumbered” has been conspicuously absent from the airwaves for two weeks. On Sunday, she revealed the painful reason behind her disappearance.

“I headed home to Dallas, Texas, after ‘Fox Report’ two weeks ago,” Faulkner explained. “My mom passed away just hours after our plane landed.”

Shirley Faulkner had been diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer seven weeks earlier but had been expected to live up to a year. “The Lord obviously had another plan,” related a composed but emotional Faulkner.

In a compellingly human moment, Faulkner related her admiration for her mother and her “enormous gratitude”  to viewers, friends and colleagues on behalf of her family

She expressed her faith that her mother Shirley Faulkner had more important work to do in heaven and is “loving us and watching over us.”

After returning home to Texas to say farewell, Faulkner was back on “Fox News Sunday” over the weekend, where — in an emotional closing segment — she honored her mother’s memory.

You can see her compelling statement here:

Fox showed a passport photo of Faulkner’s mother actually holding the future newscaster in her arms.

What a treasured memory in a time of grief:

Faulkner’s mother was a social worker who often worked with foster families. Today, Faulkner champions the work of Foster Care Services.

Harris Faulkner is known for famously suing Hasbro in 2015, alleging that the toy maker had used her persona and likeness for a toy hamster. The case was settled out of court for $5 million.

The victim of a stalker who followed her across the country and was undeterred by protective orders, jail time and forced psychiatric treatment, Faulkner also became a tireless advocate for anti-stalking legislature, according to AfroCentric News.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
