President-elect Trump wants to get rid of “Seasons Greetings” and replace it with “Christmas.”
In a 2015 interview by Cliff Sims on Yellowhammer radio, Trump said that people have a problem with the word “Christmas” because “there’s an assault on anything having to do with Christianity.”
“They don’t want to use the word Christmas anymore at department stores,” he said. “There’s always lawsuits and unfortunately a lot of those lawsuits are won by the other side.”
Conservative Tribune first reported on the interview last year, when Trump explained what he would do to fix the problem if he ever became president of the U.S., not knowing then that his wish would become a reality.
“Believe me, if I run and I win, I will be the greatest representative of the Christians they’ve had in a long time,” he said.
According to Mediaite, Trump said he goes out of his way to use the word “Christmas.” It’s something he already does in his personal life, and he believes others should too.
Hear exactly what President-elect Trump said about the war on Christmas. That portion of the interview starts just after the 5:30 mark.
We had to share this throwback. Christmas is right around the corner, and already Nativity scenes have been taken down in cities across the country amid claims of “insensitivity” toward people of other religions. In many school districts, even Santa Claus has become a symbol of religious intolerance.
Under President-elect Trump, that will no longer be the case — at least not from the White House.
