Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the national anthem at NFL games may have caught on with players around the league, but Americans? They’re not fans. And they’re not afraid to show it.

This weekend, the Buffalo Bills played the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. One Patriots fan decided to make a pretty bold statement against Kaepernick that has quickly gone viral.

This Patriots fan brought a Colin Kaepernick jersey to the game, even though Kaepernick wasn’t playing the Patriots. But he wasn’t trying to show support for Kaepernick’s protest. Instead, he brought the jersey so that he could stand on it during the National Anthem before the game.

Another fan noticed the counter-protest, and snapped a picture that he posted on Twitter, which quickly went viral:

Kaepernick was playing the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, and as usual, he knelt rather than stand for the national anthem to protest his “oppression” in the United States. He was joined by two other 49ers teammates, and other NFL athletes across the league.

The 49ers lost to the Cowboys this weekend. But the real loser with these protests may end up being the NFL itself:

NFL ratings have been dropping like a rock since the protests started. They’re actually the lowest ratings the NFL has seen in seven years. Apparently, people don’t want to be preached at by a bunch of overpaid man-babies whining while they cash their multi-million dollar paychecks. There’s more focus now on the protests than on the game itself and NFL fans just aren’t interested.

Kaepernick might want to rethink how much his attention-whoring protest really matters to him, because if these ratings keep dropping, he may be a whiny Black Lives Matter activist without a multi-million dollar paycheck.
