Dr. Larry Lindsey was one of the innumerable patriots on whom Donald Trump relied to carry the presidency. A former Marine, minor YouTube personality and Trump elector, Lindsey first made news by burning his GOP registration card after he was turned away from voting as an elector for Trump at the Colorado caucuses.
Lindsey lived to see Trump’s stunning upset on Nov. 8, but his time on earth was drawing to an end. Lindsey had been diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and didn’t have much time left.
However, before he went, he left an amazing message to both the president-elect and some of the men who will make up the Trump administration.
“President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Gen. Mattis, I would like to say that the greatest honor of my life has been to wage this battle with you,” Lindsey said in the video, which has already gotten over 200,000 hits.
“I have been prouder of being a Marine than anything I have ever done,” he explained. “Having a hand in some small way in fighting for my country has meant the world to me. There is no greater honor for me to have great men like you leading its country back to its foundation and back to God.”
“Because with Trump, I have no doubt in my heart and in my mind that you will be perhaps the greatest president in the history of our country,” he continued.
He also praised two other major components of Trump’s administration, Vice President-elect Mike Pence and defense secretary nominee Gen. James Mattis.
“Vice President Pence, I am so honored to call you my vice president,” Lindsey said. “You’re an incredibly good man and probably the only vice president in 150 years to have any brains. And I appreciate that about you.”
“Dear Gen. Mattis, it appears I am out of ammunition, but I continue to fight with my last breath,” he added. “I do not fear death because I know where I am going, and I’m only going home for a rest.
“It’s you people here, the good people of America, for whom I cry, my loved ones and my friends, and the sacrifices they continue to make in this fight to restore our country,” Lindsey said.
“Dying is the easy part. Dying is the comforting part if you know who your God is and He holds your hand. And I do. I praise God for a wonderful life. So many wonderful blessings that I have known,” he said. “And so many wonderfully kind and loving people in this country whom I have met during my fight for this country.”
“I want each and every one of you to know that we have taken on a challenge that has only just begun. The real battle lies ahead.”
Sadly, Lindsey succumbed to his disease on Dec. 17, going home to be with the Lord on his birthday. Not before he received a stunning phone call, however.
“So my Charge Nurse comes in this morning about 9 a.m. and asks if I feel up to an urgent call. I refused at first but acquiesced at her insistence. It turned out to be P.J. Schrantz, President Trump’s Chief of Security. It seems President Trump, Vice President Pence and Gen. Mattis were requesting information about how I am doing,” Lindsey wrote.
You can see his comments for yourself here:
Lindsey kept on fighting until the end,. In a Dec. 15 Facebook post, he said that, “A good Marine knows his Commanding Officer’s voice and understands and obeys His command. My CO has not given me the order to lay down my arms and surrender! I am still in the battle! Now, find your rank in file and join the fight or get the hell out of the way!
“Besides, I want to be there to see President Trump get inaugurated!” he added.
He may not have made it in flesh, but he’ll certainly be there in spirit. Semper Fi, Dr. Lindsey.
