Chelsea Clinton Joins Twitter Attack On Conways Word Slip

Chelsea Clinton joined in the attack on White House counselor Kellyanne Conway Friday after Conway used the wrong word in a TV interview to describe a 2011 terror plot that forced the Obama administration to review its procedures for admitting refugees into the United States.

On Thursday night, Conway sought to put President Donald Trump’s executive order on travel and immigration into the context of past responses to concerns over terrorism and refugees.

“I bet it’s brand-new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered,” Conway said.

One problem. No one was massacred at Bowling Green, a fact Twitter seized upon.

Chelsea Clinton chimed in as well.

However, some folks on Twitter had to remind her of other events that might have never actually happened.

On Friday Conway went to Twitter to clarify that she meant “terrorists.”

She also noted that she was referring to a 2011 incident in which two refugees were arrested for participating in a plot to send arms to Iraqis that could then be used to kill American soldiers. In the wake of that incident, the Obama administration reviewed its vetting for refugees from Iraq.

Conway noted the media has become selective in the way it addresses individuals who make a word slip.
