Carrie Underwood Shares Video Of Her Pup Undergoing Hydrotherapy After Paralysis

Country singer Carrie Underwood has revealed that her dog, Ace, is undergoing hydrotherapy after being completely paralyzed.

In an Instagram video posting Jan. 4, Underwood said the rat terrier suffered a herniated disk right before Christmas. As a result, he became paralyzed in his back end.

After resting for a couple of days, he was able to recover mobility in his right side, she said. His left side is slowing getting better through the treatment, the singer said, but Ace still has a long way to go.

“He’s taking his physical therapy like a champ!” she wrote on Instagram.

Underwood, 33, and her 36-year-old husband, NHL player Mike Fisher, have two dogs at home with their 2-year-old son, Isaiah.

This is not the first time the singer has posted on social media about one of her pets. On Sept. 2, Underwood used Instagram to upload a video of her other pup, Penny Jean.

“Got up from the breakfast table to change a diaper and this is what happens!” she wrote as a caption. “Naughty Penny!”

Off-camera, Underwood could be heard talking to the dog.

“Penny Jean, you took French toast off the table,” she said in the video. “That was your little brother’s French toast. You’re not even sorry. Quit licking your lips!”

As it turns out, Underwood’s friends appear to be well aware of how invested the singer is in her pets. Singer and friend Miranda Lambert sent Underwood a care package for Ace and Penny in December.

Lambert is the founder of the MuttNation Foundation, a donation-funded organization designed to end animal cruelty, neglect and homelessness.
