As failed presidential nominees Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton began their recount efforts in late November and early December, Republicans in Wisconsin reportedly erected a billboard urging their constituents not to allow the duo to “steal the election.”
Initially reported by Milwaukee news station WITI and later shared on Twitter, the billboard attracted a lot of negative attention from liberals, who took to social media to mock Republicans for fearing a recount.
“They are certainly shaking and they know why,” tweeted one liberal.
“Irony,” wrote another. “Why are they afraid of a recount?”

The real irony was that the tables had turned by the second week of December, by which point it had been shown that President-elect Donald Trump had picked up at least 145 votes in Wisconsin, whereas Hillary Clinton had lost at least 41, as reported by The Associated Press.
Be careful what you wish for, kids. Who, really, should have been scared?
The billboard that liberals across the country mocked can be seen below:
Moreover, it was not true that Republicans feared the recounts. They simply wanted fair recounts as opposed to crooked ones, and felt that the recounts were a waste of time and money — and they were not alone.
Even former Democrat National Committee chairman Ed Rendell had slammed them.
“I think the suits are a waste of time,” he said during an interview with radio host John Catsimatidis that aired Sunday, according to The Hill. “They’re not gonna change the results.”
If anything, it seemed the recounts were going to make Stein, Clinton and their rabid supporters look like complete fools with atrocious spending habits.
Would the Democrats learn their lesson, though? Probably not. In fact, some of them were asking for more, according to USA Today, which reported that three Florida voters had filed a lawsuit demanding a recount in their own state.
“In a lawsuit filed Monday in Leon Circuit Court, they assert that Clinton, not Trump, actually won Florida,” the paper reported. “The plaintiffs, who live in Osceola and Volusia counties, say the state’s official election results were off because of hacking, malfunctioning voting machines and other problems.”
In case nobody has ever told them, one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
