BREAKING: Jerry Falwell Jr. Issues Stunning Accusation About Leaked Trump Tape

The president of Liberty University has made a stunning allegation, accusing Republican elites of leaking the now-notorious Trump Tape that plunged GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump into so much hot water last weekend.

Trump supporter Jerry Falwell Jr. made the accusation while being interviewed by CBS correspondent Rita Cosby, The Gateway Pundit reported.

“I think this whole tape … video tape thing was planned, I think it was timed, I think it might have even been a conspiracy among establishment Republicans who have known about it for weeks and who tried to time it to do the maximum damage to Donald Trump, and I just … I just think it just backfired on them.” said Falwell.

“I think a lot of the establishment Republicans have been conspiring together for the last six weeks or more, and I think this was all a plan,” he continued.

Falwell also noted that the timing of the release of the tapes “conveniently gave Paul Ryan a way to dis-invite Trump” from the Wisconsin campaign rally.

He also said that he had known the tapes would be released.

Falwell said that he received “independent information” that “some of the establishment folks who reluctantly endorsed him (Trump) had this planned all along as a way to slither out of the endorsement.”

“I think that’s a slimy way to conduct themselves and I was just glad to see that it didn’t work,” he added.

However, the tape, which was first released by The Washington Post, shocked many Americans, including some of those GOP elites Falwell accused.

Many Republican leaders did not endorse Trump for weeks after the Republican National Convention, but eventually came around in an effort to help a man from their own party who could defeat Hillary Clinton.

The release of the tapes could only hurt the GOP at election time, but Falwell thought some party leaders were willing to let that happen for their own reasons. It’s an interesting theory.
