At the second presidential debate, one of Republican nominee Donald Trump’s most well-received lines was when he promised to launch an investigation of Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton if he were elected.
Trump vowed to put a special prosecutor on the case so Clinton could finally be brought to justice. On the campaign trail Trump doubled down on his remarks, and has expanded the list of people he would investigate, The Washington Times reported.
At a rally in Ocala, Florida, on Wednesday, Trump stated that he would investigate the Justice Department and the FBI to make sure those who were responsible for letting Clinton go were brought to justice.
“We have to investigate the investigation. We’ve never had a case like this,” Trump stated.

Trump could never put all these people on trial by himself — that’s not how a democracy works — but he could order the FBI and DOJ to investigate those involved in the decision not to prosecute Clinton, to see if any wrongdoing occurred along the way.
“This is the most heinous, the most serious thing that I have ever seen with justice in the history of the United States. We have a person that has committed crimes that is now running for the presidency,” Trump exclaimed to the crowd.
Several polls have shown that a majority of Americans do believe that Clinton should have been charged over her use of a private email server, which is why Trump’s remarks are going over so well.
If Clinton becomes president it is almost certain that she will destroy all evidence that could be found against her, meaning that she will once again escape justice, perhaps permanently this time.
If Trump is elected, the Justice Department will actually get back to its job of prosecuting criminals and no longer turn a blind eye to politicians who happen to be well-connected.
