Gilliam, who hosts “The Experts” on Facebook Live, said that he was dubious about reports claiming that hacking into the DNC’s accounts was done by the Russians and designed to sway the election to Donald Trump.
“If anybody wants to look into anything, they should look to see if the Clinton camp is not the one that’s actually doing the hacks themselves,” Gilliam said. “If you look at the information, there was nothing really that came out that destroyed anybody, but it made them look like a victim. That’s what they did in the DNC and that’s what they’re doing now.”
“It almost seems like they’re setting themselves up to play the victim card,” he added.
He also expressed some concern given that the DNC is a private organization.
“They’re private agencies, and they showed proof all throughout Hillary Clinton’s time when she was secretary of state that they could not hold on to classified information because the same people that worked for her then are the same people that were working for her and her campaign, and they left top secret information all over the place,” Gilliam said. “They had a server that was in Hillary’s house that wasn’t secured, and the DNC wasn’t secured.”

Gilliam’s remarks come after a testy weekend in which several key players in the Republican Party openly questioned the narrative — originally established by pieces in The Washington Post and The New York Times — that the CIA had concluded that the Kremlin had intervened on behalf of Donald Trump during the election.
During an interview with “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Republican National Committee chairman and Donald Trump’s designated White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus, indicated a major part of both stories — namely, that the RNC had been hacked, as well — was not accurate.
“When the DNC was hacked, we called the FBI. The FBI went through everything, and we were not hacked,” Priebus told host Chuck Todd. “If we were not hacked, then where does that story lie?”
The RNC hacking was critical to both stories, since they claimed the CIA had determined the Kremlin favored Trump because both the DNC and RNC had been hacked, but only the information from the DNC had been widely disseminated.
Then, former Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton — reportedly a top pick for a position in Trump’s State Department — told “Face the Nation” that he was unsure what the genesis of the DNC hacks was, Politico reported.
“It is not at all clear to me, just viewing this from the outside, that this hacking into the (Democrat National Committee and the Republican National Committee) computers was not a false flag,” Bolton said. “So the question has to be asked, why did the Russians run their smart intelligence service against Hillary’s server, but their dumb intelligence service against the election?”
When asked whether the administration or anyone associated with it had played a role, Bolton said, “We just don’t know … But I believe that the intelligence community has been politicized in the Obama administration to a very significant degree.”
