The Army staff sergeant who had the privilege of dancing with Melania Trump at the inaugural ball revealed what she did while they danced.
Sgt. Jose Medina, 29, had the chance of lifetime to dance with the first lady Friday night during the Salute to Our Armed Services Ball hosted at the National Building Museum in Washington, and he explained that the former model was gracious and kind the entire time.
Medina, who is from Puerto Rico, added that while he was nervous, the experience was incredible.
The sergeant also explained that the first lady congratulated him on being selected on the opportunity. While the two danced, he said she asked him some questions.
“She was just trying to get to know me. Behind the scenes, she wanted to talk to me more,” Medina told “Inside Edition.”
“I didn’t want it to be just a boring dance,” Medina told Task & Purpose. “I’m Latino and I was expecting something more than a slow dance. So I asked, ‘Can I spin you?’”
The first lady said, “Of course,” and the spin got the crowd cheering.
He also said Melania seemed a bit nervous but loosened up after a bit.
“I don’t think she was ready for all of that attention,” he said.
She handled it well, and Medina said it was a “pretty cool experience.”
Before the dance, Medina said, he spent about 45 minutes with the Trump family, including the president.
“I feel like he’s going to be a great commander in chief,” he said. “He’s all about the military (and) told us he was going to look out for us. My impression of him was amazing.”

It’s nice to know that the first lady was so kind during the dance. It’s hard to envision former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sharing a dance with a sergeant.
And, of course, no one wants to think of how things might have looked with her husband on the dance floor with a young woman.
Melania Trump proved she can be classy without being snobby, and that’s refreshing.
