Amy Schumer is the epitome of irony. She can use race, gender and sexuality in her vulgar humor to make a living. But then she immediately condemns not only Donald Trump, but also every individual who voted or supported him. Isn’t that a double standard? She promised that if Donald Trump was elected to become the next president, she would be moving to Italy.
Unfortunately for her, that seemed to fuel many voters’ desire to have Trump in office. They wanted her gone. And soon after the election they were quick to remind her that she promised she would leave. Her response was furious and hilarious. She simultaneously calls out every Trump supporter while praising Hillary Clinton.
“First of all the interview where I said I would move was in London and was said in jest. Not that anyone needs more than a headline to count something as official news. Anyone saying pack your bags is just as disgusting as anyone who voted for this racist homophobic openly disrespectful woman abuser. Like the rest of us I am grieving today. My heart is in a million pieces. My heart breaks for my niece and my friends who are pregnant bringing children into the world right now. Like everyone else I am horrified that people believed these bumper sticker slogans filled with hate he spewed. People who voted for him you are weak. You are not just misinformed. You didn’t even attempt information.”
She calls anyone who voted for him weak, misinformed, ignorant and even disgusting. She even goes as far as to say she feels sick for anyone bringing children into the world right now. That has to be the worst part to me. Really??? You are heartbroken that children are being brought into this world?
How can she say hate won last night when she embodies hate and hate speech.
Go ahead and move, Amy. I am tired of your vulgarity and hate anyway.
