“On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win,” it reads.
“However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine — which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!”
“We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?” it continues. “Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.”
“(T)he Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?”
This is an unlikely result, given that liberals would have to persuade at least 20 electors to abandon Trump. The New York Times also reported that so-called faithless electors — members of the college selected by the winning party in that state but who do not vote for the person who won the state — have “never affected the final result of any presidential election.”
However, it’s perhaps unsurprising — given how many liberal snowflakes have melted down over the election not going their way — that over 2,000,000 people have signed the petition. Even Lady Gaga managed to tweet about it.

And it’s hardly just a petition. One writer for The Hill wrote a piece titled “Remember, it’s not over until Electoral College casts ballots.”
While writer Tobias T. Gibson did say, “I sincerely hope for a smooth transition,” the rest of the piece seemed to be openly wishing for an electoral college revolt.
“While the returns suggest that the clear majority of the electoral votes are for Trump, he seemingly failed to garner the most popular votes. This result suggests the importance of the Electoral College, and its individual members,” Gibson wrote.
“My initial guidance is that he should remember the eyes of the world are upon him, the reconciliation of the country is upon his shoulders, and that while he certainly he can afford several rogue electors, the election results are not complete.”
The Hill, mind you, is a fairly reputable journalistic institution that seems to be openly calling for Republican elector slates to cast their votes for Hillary Clinton.
Just another reminder that, thanks to the failure to accept the results of the people who demanded Trump “accept the results,” this election may not be over yet.
