Chelsea Clinton could be preparing to continue her family’s legacy by running for office.
According to NewsMax, the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton might try for a congressional run in her home state of New York.
Currently, New York City’s 17th Congressional District is held by Representative Nita Lowey. Lowey, who is 79 years old, could retire soon, and it is rumored that Chelsea could vie for the office.
There are a few signs that pointed to some possible truth in the rumor. The Clinton’s family house in Chappaqua is included in Lowe’s district. In August, 2015, Chelsea bought a home next to her parents’, where she raises her two children.
“While it is true the Clintons need some time to regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss, they will not give up. Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand,” the source said.
“In the past few years, she has taken a very visible role in the Clinton Foundation and on the campaign trail. While politics isn’t the life Hillary wanted for Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has turned out to be very poised, articulate, and comfortable with the visibility.”
