ALERT: Homeland Sec. Committee Member Calls for Investigation into CIA for Trump “Hit Job”

Some of the top officials charged with our country’s security are squabbling about Russian hackers, and truth seems to have gotten caught in the crossfire.

Rep. Peter King, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, was at odds with the Central Intelligence Agency and its recent handling of a Russian election hacking investigation.

“There should be an investigation of what the Russians did, but also (Director) John Brennan and the hit job he seems to be orchestrating against the president-elect,” King said on ABC News.

King accused Brennan of leaking information to The Washington Post and The New York Times.

“I’m just saying we’ve been given no evidence on it, when we have these stories mysteriously appearing in the newspaper,” King said.

Citing a “secret CIA assessment,” The Washington Post reported earlier this month that the intelligence community had reached a “consensus.”

According to The Post, the intelligence community agreed that Russia had hacked the email accounts of top Democrat National Committee officials and Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman in order to help Trump win the presidential race.

Except that didn’t appear to be true. Oops.

Three anonymous officials from James Clapper’s Office of the Director of National Intelligence told Reuters there was only a “thin reed” on which to base such a judgment. One of those agents said the FBI had also declined to endorse the CIA’s position on the basis of the available evidence, as reported by The Washington Times.

King, a Republican, was also at odds with the committee’s highest ranking Democrat, Adam Schiff, who fully supported the CIA’s narrative. On the same show, Schiff told ABC that intelligence officials had concrete evidence that Russian hackers had tried to help Trump win.

The liberal media have been pushing the narrative that the reason former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election was due to Russian hacking. Or sexism. Or angry white men. Or fake news. Or aliens. Whatever.

They will grab any handy excuse except the obvious one: Clinton was not the choice of the American people. And they are not going to like the truth on this one.
