President Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to eliminate political correctness from American society. Unfortunately, despite his impressive victory, political correctness continues to be a stain upon our government.
Most recently, an Air Force officer sent out an email to a number of personnel that discussed how commonly used words such as “boy,” “girl” and “blacklist” could be offensive to other people, Fox New’ Todd Starnes reported.
The email was sent to service members at Joint Base San Antonio. Other words and phrases that “may be construed as offensive” included “blackmail,” “colonial,” “blondes have more fun” and “too many chiefs, not enough Indians.”
“Please be cognizant that such conduct is 100 percent zero tolerance in or outside of the work climate,” part of the email stated. “Let’s capitalize on our richly diverse climate, and help others seek assistance if they are struggling with compliance.”
The list did include some words that are indeed offensive. However, if someone is offended by a person saying “girl,” then that offended person probably shouldn’t be in the military.
What’s truly offensive is that people in the Air Force seem to thing that they should be playing political correctness with service members instead of figuring out how to win the wars we are in.
Hopefully, Trump and Secretary of Defense James Mattis will do something to root out those in the military who are more concerned with making sure everyone feels good than they are doing their job.
When Starnes contacted an Air Force public affairs representative, he was told the Air Force didn’t have any banned terms, that the “individual” who sent the email just wanted to remind people to be “respectful” to each other.
The military isn’t for sensitive snowflakes — that’s what college campuses are for these days. If you want some safe space where your feelings aren’t going to be hurt, then go to Berkeley or some other liberal swamp.
Leave the Air Force (and other military branches, for that matter) to the true Americans who are actually capable of defending America — and hearing the words “boy” and “girl” without being triggered.
